“Second Chance” tells the tale of my mother who in 1965 at age 40 and nine days after giving birth to her sixth child dared to quit her low-paying secretarial job to pursue her dream of getting a college baccalaureate degree. It’s a story of determination and grit in the face of daunting familial and economic challenges.
My personal essay, “Second Chance,” published in the Round Table Literary Journal
